Servers play an essential role and are representative of the establishment; they can make or break the customer experience.
A good fine dining server has excellent manners and people skills, while being able to explain the entire menu, often hitting emotional cues with the guest.
They are there when you need help, pleasantly absent when you don't and are capable of putting a smile upon the guest's face.
They have an interest in having extensive knowledge of the bar menu, from the newest wines to the most creative craft cocktails as well as in extended experience and knowledge beyond the menu to the restaurant business itself.
Servers are as well responsible for maintaining the decorum of the restaurant, with their attitude, manners, and overall demeanor being a reflection of what the restaurant stands for.
