Job description
The Port Forwarding Clerk (Intermodal / Road Transportation) is responsible for carrying out the shipping and receiving process of containers from/in the Container Terminals located within Constanta Port and Constanta South – Agigea Port.
Main Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities / Road Transport Coordinator:
- Organization, management and control of internal transport activity;
- Taking over and executing the road transport orders received;
- Sending price offers to customers;
- Maintaining permanent connection with the clients, for a better fluidity in carrying out the road transports;
- Informing drivers about transport details (place of loading/unloading goods, type of goods, references, etc.) together with information about restrictions, road conditions, weather, etc.;
- Constantly checking the correct execution of the road trips and helps the driver during its execution;
- Preparation of reports as requested by superiors;
- Preparation of road transport files and documentation for drivers or customers;
Secondary Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities / Port Forwarding Clerk (as back-up):
- Preparation of shipping documents for all types of transactions related to container operations;
- Collection/reception of the accompanying documents of container transports, their verification and archiving;
- Checking the containers in terms of physical and technical condition before unloading/ after loading, as well as the seals, according to the provisions of the internal procedures;
- Checking the container release documents (Work Order) sent by the Line’s Forwarding Agent, as well as the customs documents related to the release/receipt of the containers;
- Keep in touch with various Port operational Providers (i.e. Port Operators/Terminals, Railage Operators/Shunting & Traction, Lines’ Forwarding Agents) or Authorities (Customs, Immigration, Police, Port Administration) to ensure smooth intermodal operations;
- The correct and efficient registration of transactions in the operating systems of SLS Cargo;
- Work jointly and ensure back-up for Documentation Staff outside of office hours;
- Identify and implement strategies to improve quality of service, productivity and profitability;
- Liaise with Company’s Management to support and implement growth strategies;
Other tasks:
- Is directly responsible for updating the data / files used in his/her work;
- Is responsible for updating / preparing documents / rules / conditions for operational excellency;
- Uses various computer programs to organize work in the department or is involved in work tasks in other departments, to achieve common end goals: meeting operational requirements;
- Assist and follow ups on operational problems reported by customers support;
- Ensures reporting accuracy and respect time frames.
